장차 누리게 될 영광에 대한 확신과 기도
로마서 8:18-25
들어가는 말: 하나님은 우리 인간들뿐만 아니라 모든 피조물까지 구원하길 원하십니다.
“그러나 이스라엘 자손에게는 사람에게나 짐승에게나 개 한 마리도 그 혀를 움직이지 아니하리니 여호와께서 애굽 사람과 이스라엘 사이를 구별하는 줄을 너희가 알리라 하셨나니” (출 11:7)
1. 하나님은 고난을 통해 우리를 그리스도의 영광에 이르게 하십니다.
“생각하건대 현재의 고난은 장차 우리에게 나타날 영광과 비교할 수 없도다” (롬 8:18)
“징계는 다 받는 것이거늘 너희에게 없으면 사생자요 친아들이 아니니라” (히 12:8)
“고난 속에는 하나님의 숨은 사랑이 담겨 있습니다.”
“고난 속에는 하나님의 숨은 깨우침이 담겨 있습니다.”
“고난 속에는 하나님의 거룩한 기대가 담겨 있습니다.”
“고난 속에는 하나님이 선물해 주고 싶으신 영광이 담겨 있습니다.”
“구원이라는 것은 넓어지는 것이다.” (황성주 박사의 강의 중에서)
“천국은 인간의 모든 가능성이 꽃 피우는 곳이다. 지옥은 모든 가능성이 고갈 되는 곳이다.” C. S. 루이스
“다만 이뿐 아니라 우리가 환난 중에도 즐거워하나니 이는 환난은 인내를, 인내는 연단을, 연단은 소망을 이루는 줄 앎이로다” (롬 5:3-4)
2. 하나님은 장차 고통 중에 있는 피조물도 영광스럽게 회복시키실 것입니다.
이미 받은 구원 – 현재의 고난 – 아직 온전히 나타나지 않은 영광
“그 바라는 것은 피조물도 썩어짐의 종 노릇 한 데서 해방되어 하나님의 자녀들의 영광의 자유에 이르는 것이니라” (롬 8:21)
“그뿐 아니라 또한 우리 곧 성령의 처음 익은 열매를 받은 우리까지도 속으로 탄식하여 양자 될 것 곧 우리 몸의 속량을 기다리느니라” (롬 8:23)
나가는 말: 우리는 소망을 품고 참고 기다리면서 기도해야 합니다.
“만일 우리가 보지 못하는 것을 바라면 참음으로 기다릴지니라” (롬 8:25)
“나 요한은 너희 형제요 예수의 환난과 나라와 참음에 동참하는 자라 하나님의 말씀과 예수를 증언하였음으로 말미암아 밧모라 하는 섬에 있었더니” (계 1:9)
“내가 또 들으니 하늘 위에와 땅 위에와 땅 아래와 바다 위에와 또 그 가운데 모든 피조물이 이르되 보좌에 앉으신 이와 어린 양에게 찬송과 존귀와 영광과 권능을 세세토록 돌릴지어다 하니 네 생물이 이르되 아멘 하고 장로들은 엎드려 경배하더라” (계 5:13-14)
* 허무함은 사라지고 충만한 아름다움으로 가득 차게 될 것입니다.
* 썩는 것은 사라지고 풍성한 생명으로 가득 차게 될 것입니다.
* 탄식과 고통은 사라지고 넘치는 기쁨으로 가득 차게 될 것입니다.
“우리 주여 오시옵소서” (고전 16:22하)
“아멘 주 예수여 오시옵소서” (계 22:20)

Assurance and Prayer to Enjoy in Future Glory
Romans 8:18-25
Opening Remark: God wants to save not only us humans but also all creatures.
“But among the Israelites not a dog will bark at any man or animal.’ Then you will know that the Lord makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.” (Exodus 11:7)
1. God has made us co-heirs with Christ.
“Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” (Romans 8:17) “But in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.” (Hebrews 1:2) “This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 3:6)
2. To be heirs of God, we must become children, not slaves.
“Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son coming from your own body will be your heir.”” (Genesis 15:4) “Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.” (Genesis 15:6)
3. Becoming an heir is possible not by the work of the flesh but only by faith.
First, it was a big mistake to fulfill God’s will by the way of the flesh.
Second, it was a big mistake to advance God’s time by the way of the flesh.
Third, God’s will is fulfilled not by the work of the flesh but by the work of the Holy Spirit.
“It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. For if those who live by law are heirs, faith has no value and the promise is worthless,” (Romans 4:13–14)
4. In Christ, anyone can be an heir.
“You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:26–28)
“I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring, all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.” (Genesis 22:17–18)
Closing Remark: Co-heir with Christ will become co-intercessor with Christ.
“Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” (Romans 8:34)
“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Hebrews 1:3)
